Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This notice explains what cookies and similar technologies this website uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. We have kept it deliberately short: the list below is the complete list.

What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Related technologies work the same way โ€” for example, localStorage keeps data in your browser without expiring, and pixels are small images loaded to record that a page or email was opened. This notice covers all three.

Cookies This Website Sets

Currently, this website sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics code and no advertising code.

You may notice that we do not display a consent banner. That is deliberate rather than an oversight. Cookie consent is required for cookies that track you โ€” analytics, advertising, and similar technologies. The only storage this site uses is required for the enquiry form and basic security: without it the form cannot work at all. Under ePrivacy rules, such strictly necessary cookies do not need to be consented to, so a banner asking you to choose would offer you nothing real to decide.

If we ever introduce analytics or advertising cookies, this page will be updated first, and a consent banner will appear at the bottom of each page before anything is placed on your device.

The only browser storage that can appear on this site is set by WordPress itself, and only when the corresponding feature is in use:

Name Purpose Type Duration
Session storage Holds your enquiry form entries while you are filling them in, so an accidental page reload does not lose your input. Set by your browser when you start typing in the form. Strictly necessary Until the browser tab is closed
WordPress test cookie A one-off check that your browser accepts cookies, used only when a form is submitted. Set to a fixed value (wordpress_test_cookie) and contains no personal data. Strictly necessary Until the browser tab is closed

Neither is used for tracking. If both are blocked, the site still works: you can read every page, and you can submit an enquiry form โ€” the form may simply ask you to re-enter it once if a reload interrupts your input.

We have deliberately kept this list this short. Every added analytics or advertising tool has to be listed here before it is deployed.

Third-Party Cookies

We set no third-party cookies. Specifically:

  • No analytics. We do not run Google Analytics or any alternative product. Traffic figures for this site come from our web server logs, which are not shared with any external analytics provider and are not linked to individual visitors by cookie.
  • No advertising or retargeting. No advertising networks, data brokers or audience-building pixels run on this site.
  • No social media embeds. We do not embed content from social networks, so visiting our pages does not notify them of your visit.
  • No video or map third parties. All media on this site is served from our own server.

This means your visit to this website is not visible to third parties, and your browsing here does not follow you to advertising networks.

Cookies That Would Appear If You Use Certain Features

Some features are not currently active, but if they were, they would set the following. We list them so you know what to expect:

  • WordPress comment cookies โ€” if comment posting were enabled, WordPress would set wordpress_test_cookie to check that your browser accepts cookies, and wp-settings-* to remember your display preferences. Neither is used for tracking.
  • Login cookies โ€” only for site administrators signing in to /wp-admin/. Registration is closed, so no visitor account can be created and no login cookie is ever issued to you.
  • Analytics cookies โ€” if we ever introduce traffic measurement, we would update this page first, describe exactly what is set, and request consent where the law requires it before any non-essential cookie is placed on your device.

How to Control Cookies in Your Browser

Every major browser lets you view, delete and block cookies. Blocking them will not prevent you from reading anything on this site or sending us an enquiry.

Typical paths:

  • Chrome, Edge, Safari: Settings โ†’ Privacy and Security โ†’ Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings โ†’ Privacy & Security โ†’ Cookies and Site Data โ†’ Manage Data
  • Mobile Safari (iOS): Settings โ†’ Safari โ†’ Advanced โ†’ Website Data

Alternatively, Your Online Choices lists the industry opt-out pages for the advertising networks that are common in the wider web. It has no effect on this site, since we run no such networks.

Server Logs

Like nearly all web servers, ours records basic request data โ€” IP address, timestamp, requested page, browser type and referring page โ€” in order to deliver pages, block abuse and diagnose faults. This information is used in aggregate for capacity and security purposes, is not combined with cookie data to identify individuals, and is not shared with third parties.

Changes to This Notice

We will update this page whenever the cookies we use change, and revise the date at the top accordingly. Material changes will also be noted on this site rather than applied silently.
